How we build the lists
BestAINews links to public Medium profiles. This page explains how we find them, what we check, and what we could not check.
What counts as an AI writer here
A listed writer publishes regularly about artificial intelligence on Medium. A publication with many contributors is listed as a publication, not as one author.
Where the data comes from
- Public Medium profile links for the 19 featured writers, as supplied to us. We have not yet checked each one’s topic or activity.
- For the 16 topic-grouped writers, public search results on their own site, on LinkedIn, or in a published list. Each card states the topic we could confirm, and says so when we could not confirm it.
- A cross-platform deep-research report dated 13 October 2026, covering 212 accounts across nine platforms. It used public directories such as Feedspot’s 2026 AI lists and public statistics from SocialBlade.
What we did not do
- We did not use official platform APIs, and we did not scrape logged-in pages. LinkedIn help pages prohibit third-party scraping, so we did not crawl LinkedIn.
- Medium blocks automated profile reads. Our attempts returned a 403 response or a bot-block message. For that reason we did not verify individual articles or follower counts directly on Medium.
- We did not read paywalled articles through a membership, so we cannot confirm what those articles say.
How numbers are shown
Every follower, subscriber or listener count carries its source and date. We do not convert one kind of metric into another. A number that is not public is marked “not public”, not estimated.
What we will and will not claim
We describe what a writer publishes, as shown on their public page. We do not rate a writer’s expertise, and we do not say a writer’s work is accurate unless a source we cite says so.
Corrections and removals
If a listed writer or profile owner wants a correction or removal, write to hello@bestainews.org with the profile URL and what should change.
